VSIAS 2021
The Virginia Association of Addiction Professionals (VAAP) and Co-Sponsors are proud to bring you the Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies, 2021, Addiction Counseling and Recovery – Basic to Advanced, from July 19, 2021- July 21, 2021, as a virtual conference. Virtual sessions will also be available following the conference, as recordings until 09/01/21, allowing up to 30 CEs if all presentations are viewed
Credit for Attendance:
VSIAS enjoys the privilege to be an education provider for credentialing and academic organizations. Inherent in this privilege is the ethical responsibility that VSIAS accepts to ensure that attendance credits are awarded fairly and honestly. To this end, an individual must attend a minimum of 85 percent of a session to receive credit. VSIAS Faculty will take steps to ensure this is the case. We trust you will understand and support why there must be no exceptions to this requirement. Additionally, VSIAS will take required actions in those cases should an individual misrepresent membership or credentials status. VSIAS provides a professional learning experience and therefore has an ethical responsibility to ensure that the Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies as a reputable and credible conference. Evaluation Forms: Overall and Individual (Individual MUST BE COMPLETED FOR CEs at the end of each session electronically & Overall at the end of the 3-day conference):
VSIAS requires that all evaluations for the live conference be completed by the participant after the session is completed in order to receive CEs for that completed session. This is due to our requirements as an educational provider. CEs will also be given for sessions viewed as recordings after the live conference is over, and evaluations for those sessions be sent to info@vsias.org by September 1, 2021.
National Association of Social Workers (NASW):
If you are a social worker and need to receive NASW credit, please complete the NASW Evaluation located on the website www.vsias.org under Schedule and each day’s presenter you attended. These evaluations must be sent in altogether no later than THURSDAY, JULY 22, 2021. Do not email them individually.

NASW After Conference Instructions
Registration Fees:
Individual Registration $300 for all 3-days. No single- or two-day registrations are available.
Current and New VAAP Individual Member Registration Discounts up to $100:
Current VAAP Members: Register for VSIAS by July 9, 2021 and receive a $50 Discount off your VSIAS registration. Please include your member number and expiration date on your registration form. You can find that information by logging into your NAADAC Profile.
New VAAP Members: Join NAADAC/VAAP and register for VSIAS by July 9, 2021 and receive a $100 Discount off your VSIAS registration. To receive your $100 Discount:
- Become a VAAP/NAADAC member by going to the NAADAC Membership page and clicking on Join Today. Be sure to select the appropriate membership category and VAAP as your Primary Chapter. You will receive an Order Confirmation by email from NAADAC.
- Send the NAADAC Order Confirmation along with your completed VSIAS registration form and payment information to info@vsias.org by July 9, 2021.
The New VAAP Member $100 discount is only available to first-time VAAP members or members whose membership has lapsed for more the one year.
If your membership has lapsed for less than one year, you can still receive the Current VAAP Member $50 discount by rejoining NAADAC/VAAP by July 9, 2021, prior to submitting your VSIAS registration.

100 registrations $280/ registration or $28,000, a savings of $2,000.

CEUs:
Up to 3.0 CEUs offered from Old Dominion University. Please download the
CEU form and email to info@vsias.org. Cost for CEUs is $35.00. If you
are paying by check, please make your check out to VSIAS for $35.00 and
mail to: VSIAS, P.O. Box 29726, Richmond, VA 23242. All payments/form
must be submitted at the time of your registration.
There are three methods of payment:
Personal or Agency Check, Credit Card or Purchase Order Payments. We
accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, and American Express. All Purchase
Orders must be received prior to the conference to be fully registered.
Credentialing:
This event has been approved by VAAP, as a NAADAC approved education
provider, for CE credit as indicated. NAADAC PROVIDER #65299, VAAP is
responsible for all aspects of their programming.
CEUs approved up to 3.0 from Old Dominion University. Cost is $35.00.

Cancellations:
ALL cancellations must be received in writing before the day of the conference by midnight. If you cancel up until July 12, 2021, there is a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel after July 12, 2021, there is a $75 cancellation fee.

You may be asked by the speaker to download your handouts. Please check each “Speaker’s Write-up” to see if hand-outs are available on-line.
