Call for Speakers Letter

Dear Colleague,

The Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies is the Mid Atlantic’s premiere conference providing the latest science, research, best practices and innovations in substance use and related disorders. Our 2017 theme “Charting the Course of Change” will feature both plenary and breakout sessions that will vary the pace of the conference. For 2017 we plan to offer sessions that will address MAT, Impact of ARTS and CARA in Virginia, Recovery Coaching, Challenges in Supervision, DOD and Veteran populations, and other topics applicable to today’s workforce development and enhancement of professional expertise. There will be three Plenary Sessions that include the Opening Plenary Session, which will serve as the Keynote. A second Plenary Session will address current relevant Regulations and Policy to include time for Q&A from the audience. The third Plenary Session has not been determined at this time. Breakout sessions in the afternoon and lunchbox sessions at midday will complete this year’s catalogue.

As the Chair of the Speaker’s Committee, I invite you to share your insights and knowledge with colleagues as a presenter of an informative session at our Virginia Summer Institute in Williamsburg, July 17-19, 2017.

The speaker application window will be open until November 17, 2016. Please click on the link to download your application, and submit your proposal for review (in Word format) to info@vsias.org

Sincerely,

Ron Pritchard, Chair Speaker’s Committee
