Registration
VSIAS uses an electronic online registration system. To register, click on the “Register Now” button. There will be no on-site registration and on-line registration closes on June 1 date.
Scholarships
If you are applying for any kind of scholarship, check with the scholarship provider for procedures.
Conference Fees include sessions, continental breakfasts, breaks, and evening socials

Cancellation Fee
Notice of registration cancellation must be made in writing to the College of William and Mary at wmconf@wm.edu. All cancellations and substitutions will result in a $45 cancellation/change fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received after June 6.
Lunch
The University Center dining hall features unlimited seconds. Lunch tickets to eat in the dining hall on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday must be ordered through the online registration system. The cost for each lunch is $9.
Workshops
Pre-register for all workshop preferences. Skills-building workshops are limited to specific numbers and assigned on a first-come (by the date of registration) basis. For those workshops not limited in number, pre-registration is important in order to best accommodate space requirements.
Print your registration confirmation receipt and bring a copy with you. It will list your workshop registrations. VSIAS will not provide you with a record of workshop choices on-site.
Handouts
No print copies of handouts will be provided. Handouts will be available for download at www.vsias.org. Each participant will also receive a CD of all speaker handouts.
Accommodations
On- Campus : Campus housing is available on a first-come basis. You may select single or double occupancy during the registration process. Single occupancy registrations place one person per bedroom, although common areas may be shared with another participant. Double occupancy registrations typically place two occupants in one bedroom with bunked beds. Housing is available at the following rates, which include linens:
5-night single occupancy housing from June 15 - 20: $245
5-night double occupancy housing from June 15 - 20: $170
4-night single occupancy housing from June 16 - 20: $198
4-night double occupancy housing from June 16 - 20: $138
Single occupancy housing for 1 night: $54.00
Please note that there will be a replacement charge of $55 for lost room keys and $20 for lost conference cards. Check-in is from 3 p.m. -7 p.m. and checkout is prior to 11 a.m. Late departures will be charged an additional night's lodging fees. Housing cancellations must be made in writing to The College of William and Mary at wmconf@wm.edu. There is a $40 housing cancellation fee prior to May 15, 2008; No cancellations will be accepted after May 15 and full payment is due.
Off-campus : A block of rooms has been reserved with the Williamsburg Hospitality House at a rate of $89 per night plus tax (single or double occupancy). This special rate is available until May 25, 2008 based on availability. Make your reservation by calling 800-932-9192 and ask for the Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies conference rate.
Parking
A permit is required to park on campus. The required parking permit will be provided electronically during the registration process and will provide parking regulations that must be followed. Please print the parking permit so that you can display it upon arrival. Parking is permitted in the resident/day student spaces located in William and Mary Hall Lot. Shuttle bus service will run between the William and Mary Hall Lot and the University Center each day, both in the morning and in the afternoon. There will be an additional 10 handicap meters, not including what is already in place behind the University Center.
Certificates of Attendance
Certificates must be verified by stamp or code at each session to receive credit for session attendance. They must be signed by VSIAS faculty before you leave the Institute.
Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will again be available from the College of William and Mary. You will need to complete the form on the back of the certificate of attendance and have it authorized by William and Mary staff on Friday prior to leaving the conference. The fee for CEUs is $10 and certificates will be mailed after the conclusion of the conference.
Intellectual Property
The Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies (VSIAS) respects each conference participants' rights to copyright ownership and privacy.
Copyright ownership
The copyright to any works created by a participant for a VSIAS conference remains with that participant. VSIAS requires only enough permission to be able to make use of those works for the normal purposes of its conferences, such as display to attendees, reproduction and distribution of hand-outs to attendees, and the like.
Privacy
VSIAS maintains strict confidentiality with respect to participants’ personal information, including phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, and employer information. Such information will not be provided to parties outside VSIAS without express written consent from the participant.
