VSIAS 2016

This year is the 15^th Anniversary of the Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies (VSIAS).  Due to overwhelming success of last year’s location, our 2016 Summer Institute will again be in the convenient and comfortable surroundings of the Woodlands Hotel & Suites, 105 Visitor Center Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia, 23185, on July 11-13^th, 2016.

Over the past years, VSIAS has enjoyed remarkable success, both in delivering top quality presenters as well as up to date innovative approaches and concepts. Our goal is to enhance skills necessary in our professions to improve lives.  This year’s three day institute will again provide exceptional trainings pertinent to behavioral health.

As our field continues to evolve, our theme this year is “Trends Transforming the Field.”   The VSIAS board is fully aware of the significant changes occurring in Virginia and the topics available will address the movement of these challenging times.  Training tracks will feature adolescents, cultural competency, basic core competencies, skills training, prevention, recovery, healthcare reform, and clinical supervision.

As always, VSIAS will provide an opportunity to enjoy professional development and meaningful participation while ultimately enhancing the continuing care of our clients.  The institute also provides access to a large variety of networking opportunities with other professionals, allowing participants to attain resources to assist in treatment planning for success of those we serve.  VSIAS strives to be the principal Institute for information, continuing education, and networking for professional development across Virginia. Your attendance will keep you current on challenges in the field and the resources available to help meet these challenges.

If you are not a member of one of the sponsoring agencies, we encourage you to seek them out to let them know what the continuation of Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies means to you.  Additionally, we welcome and challenge your active participation.  While you are attending, VSIAS board members will welcome any comments you have about the purpose and direction of VSIAS.
